Programme summary The New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) is a nationally recognized qualification that enables students to gain an extensive range of general business skills whilst simultaneously acquiring a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge. In addition the New Zealand Diploma in Business provides students with the opportunity to focus on career-related aspects of employment by offering papers that focus on accounting, banking, management, marketing and tourism. Students are required to complete a minimum of 12 papers. There are seven core prescription papers, students must complete six out of the seven core prescription papers. In addition, there are four papers offered at level six. Students must complete no more than three papers at level four. In total students’ select six core prescription papers, up to three level four papers and no more than four level six papers. WLCNZ offers a total of 22 papers, comprised from a selection of majors encompassing Accounting, Marketing, Tourism, and Management. Students will select 12 papers to achieve this qualification. This is the equivalent of 240 credits in total.

A NZDipBus (level 6) is awarded when students have: - achieved 240 credits of which 80 credits are at level six - completed six of the seven core prescriptions - completed no more than 60 credits at level four.
Career opportunities The New Zealand Diploma in Business offers career opportunities in a wide range of different areas including: accounting, business administration, employment as a bank teller, credit controller, financial risk manager, management trainee, payroll administrator, project manager, recruitment officer, or a small business owner/manager. In addition the New Zealand Diploma of Business can be used as a pathway to enter courses for further education through a Bachelor degree.
Duration: Two years
Entry requirements Students less than 20 years old must have: a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level one or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework fifty credits at level two or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level two or higher in English or te reo Māori; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing. The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards (check NZQA website) or equivalent to both the above.
English International students where English is a second language must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5 or TOEFL score of 550.
